inspiration comes from your happy place

The inspiration for The Good Bean Chickpea Snacks came from our founder, Sarah’s, childhood memories of healthy, delicious food made on the streets of India. Most afternoons after school, she would buy a little paper cone of roasted chickpeas from a street vendor to nibble on the school bus home.

Fast-forward to present times: Sarah spent many years of her career building natural food brands, and in the process,  became passionate about clean nutrition and making healthy food taste amazing. When she made the connection between the amazing protein and fiber benefits of beans and the growing demand for salty, crunchy, snacks… well, the rest, as they say, is peastory.

Sarah Wallace is a veteran marketer in the natural products industry where she worked with companies such as Clif Bar, Kashi, ThinkThin, and PopChips. Sarah is a self-proclaimed food geek and brand enthusiast – both of these passions are very evident in each bag of The Good Bean! This is the first food company that Sarah co-founded, and she is especially proud of still being an independent, 100% woman-owned business.

Before getting roped into starting a snack food company with her friend Sarah, Suzanne Slatcher worked at Pixar Animation Studios. Suzanne’s  mix of art and mathematical skills have been an asset for The Good Bean, in all the expected ways (creative direction and DIY holiday cards), and also unexpected (operations/finance). This artist is a systems wizard!
